What do the three witches do when they are not out and about telling prophecies and summoning ghosts? They are chilling on the couch watching their favorite shows on Netflix (aka bae).
Their all-time favorite show (and mine) is Supernatural. It is about two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, and their journey traveling around the country saving people and hunting things. These things range from vampires and werewolves to Demons and Angles, and the occasional witch. The three witches love this show because it shows how powerful the human race is. The two brothers in the show never seem to die and they always manage to overcome whatever supernatural entity is attacking them. This show is interesting to the witches because it helps them learn how to manipulate the human race, like they did to Macbeth.
Their second choice in a show is always Charmed. It is about three sisters, who happen to be witches as well, and their journey as witches living a normal life while fighting evil. The witches easily connect to this show because it is so personal to their lives. They love watching the dramatic life of three witches in the show. It is also an outlet for the witches, helping them cope with their life-style. It is not always easy being witches ya know!
Another favorite of the three witches is the Ghost Whisperer. This popular television show is about a woman has posses the power to speak with the dead. She goes through life as a medium, helping ghosts accomplish peace by relaying their lingering messages to loved ones. The three witches watch this show so much because they did the same thing when Banquo died. They decided to bring him back from the dead to torment Macbeth one last time. This was Banquo's way to punish him for his murdering him.
Their guilty pleasure on Netflix is defiantly Dexter. This creepy television show is about a normal blood-splatter analyst by day and a deadly serial killer at night. There is a catch to this twisted show, Dexter only kills other murderers that got away for their crime. This crazy and thrilling show is a top favorite among the witches. They love the show so much because of the idea of the "good murderer". In some ways, they view themselves as good murderers. They knew that telling the prophecy to Macbeth that day would cause many deaths, because they are all-knowing, but they told the prophecy out of good intentions. It is their job to inform people of their destinies and to make sure destinies become realities.
I really liked your suggestions for the three witches, I also like that you did them because not many others that I have looked at did. You provided great details and summaries about your shows and movies and now I want to go watch them all. The three witches were only in the play a little bit but I think you did a great job inferring what they would watch!
ReplyDeleteI also really liked that you chose to do the three witches, mostly because I also chose to do them too and I found it interesting that we were able to find four different Netflix shows for the three witches to watch. I think that you summary of the shows and how it relates to the witches is really good, and I like how you relate each show to a specific part in the play containing the witches. Great job!
